Author:Anna
Ingredients
Scale
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ sticks room temperature salted butter (or vegan butter)
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon milk (dairy free milk also works)
½ cup rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
To make this recipe, begin by heat-treating your flour. To do this, simply spread your flour evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Bake the flour for 10 minutes, being careful not to burn. Alternatively, you can heat the flour in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds, and then at 15-second intervals, until the flour reaches 160°F.
Take your heat-treated flour and set it aside.
Take your butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla and combine them using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. Continue to stir the mixture until it becomes creamy and fluffy.
Sift your flour into the creamed sugar mixture and stir well.
Add in your sprinkles and stir gently.
Take an ice cream scoop or tablespoon and form round bite-sized balls using your hands.
Place the cookie dough bites on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 15-20 minutes.
Enjoy!
Notes
Add in a bit of cream of tartar to baked Funfetti dough to give it a softer texture
Watch baked cookie dough closely and remove once edges begin to brown in the oven
Chill Funfetti edible cookie dough in the fridge if desired, but it isn’t necessary if you’d rather enjoy them at room temperature.
Never eat raw cookie dough that isn’t made to be edible. Doing so poses a risk to your health due to the bacteria often found in raw eggs and flour.
