Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup butter

Instructions

  1. To start making our chocolate chip cookie dough, you are going to want to throw both the butter and the sugar into a large mixing bowl. It is best to have the butter at room temperature so that it can combine a lot easier. Mix these with either a hand mixer or with a whisk until you have an airy and creamy butter mixture.
  2. Now that you have the main base prepared, add all of your other ingredients slowly except from the flour and chocolate chips. This means you should add one ingredient and then mix it slightly just to avoid lumps. Once everything is incorporated and a consistent texture has been formed, it is time to add the flour.
  3. When adding the flour, you want to be relatively careful as it can be easy to put too much in at once and create lumps. Add a little bit at a time and keep mixing. It may seem tedious but the end result is well worth it. Once all of your flour has been added, grab a silicone spatula and gently start folding your chocolate chips into the dough. The reason we use a spatula to fold the chips in is to preserve the air texture we have in the dough while still keeping the chocolate chips intact.
  4. Once your dough is ready, it is best to put it in the fridge for 10-30 minutes. Refrigerated cookie dough is a lot easier to handle as it is less stick. Line your air fryer basket with either a silicone insert or parchment paper and, using a scoop for cookie dough, place as many cookie dough balls in as you can while ensuring that they are spread apart about an inch or two.
  5. Set your air fryer for 350 degrees F and let them cook for 5-7 minutes. Wait until they are golden brown and slightly crispy, or to your liking if you want them chewy.
  6. After this, let your cookies cool down for a couple of minutes before eating. And that’s how easy it is to air fry cookies! If you can’t finish them all, just store them in an airtight container in the fridge and you have 5 days to eat them.

Notes

When it comes to actually making the dough, it is best to take it in steps so that you can get the texture that you want. While you can air fry cookie dough without it ruining the cookies, messing up the dough in the firs place is a surefire way to be left with disappointment.
