Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Get the juiciest, most flavorful chicken thighs in the air fryer using only a handful of spices in under 30 minutes.

  • 1 small pack of chicken thighs (about 4 total)
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp of cumin (optional, for smokier flavor)
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic (garlic powder)
  • 1 tsp granulated onion powder

  1. Take the juice of one small lemon and add to it your olive oil and spices. Place the chicken thighs in the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes (but no longer than 24 hours).
  2. When ready to air fry your chicken, preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Once marinated, use tongs to place your frozen chicken thighs into the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook your frozen chicken thighs for 23-25 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Bump the heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to make the skin more crispy (about 5 additional minutes).
  6. If you decided to leave your chicken in the marinade for longer than 30 minutes, your chicken may have begun to thaw. If your chicken is completely thawed, cook the chicken in the air fryer for only 18 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit before allowing the skin to crisp up for 5 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Air Fryer Drumsticks

Here’s a great smokey and savory frozen chicken legs in air fryer recipe your whole family will love!

  • 7 frozen chicken legs
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil of your choice

  1. Remove your chicken legs from the freezer. Deglaze the chicken, if needed, by running them under warm tap water for a few seconds. Set aside.
  2. Make the marinade by mixing the smoked paprika, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, black pepper, salt, and oil.
  3. Rub the chicken over with this marinade, making sure that all pieces are fully covered.
  4. Place your marinated chicken in the air fryer basket. Make sure not to overcrowd your basket; no parts of the chicken should be touching.
  5. Set your air fryer to 360 °F/180 °C. Cook the drumsticks for about 15 minutes before flipping them over and cooking for an additional 15-20 minutes. Check the internal temperature (165 °F/74 °C) to make sure the chicken drumsticks are cooked through.
  6. Once the proper internal temperature has been achieved, you may add a sauce to your chicken legs and return them to the air fryer at the same temperature for an additional 4-5 minutes. If applying no sauce, skip this step and plate up your chicken.
  7. Sprinkle with additional parsley if desired, for presentation.

Some notes to consider when air frying frozen breaded chicken:

  • Set the air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
  • Cook for 30-40 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.
  • If not fully cooked, continue air frying.
  • After the initial cooking time, check for doneness every 5-10 minutes.
  • Always ensure chicken is thoroughly cooked before serving.

Air Fryer Bacon

Craving crispy bacon but forgot to thaw it? No problem! This quick and easy method for cooking frozen bacon in an air fryer is a game-changer for busy mornings or impromptu brunch plans.

  1. Let’s start off by defrosting the bacon. First, place your frozen bacon in the air fryer at 350°F. ’Cook’ it for 5 minutes, making sure to flip at the three minute mark. After the five minutes is up, your bacon should be defrosted enough to begin cooking.
  2. To start cooking your bacon, make sure that the bacon pieces are mostly separated. If possible, you wanna keep them from overlapping too much. It’s not super important because the bacon (like burgers) will shrink as they cook. Still, be very vigilant about not overloading your fryer.
  3. After laying out your bacon slices appropriately (separate into batches if needed), set the air fryer to 400 °F and cook it for at least 8-10 minutes. If you want it crispier, cook for 10 minutes or even a little longer – just be sure to keep your eye on it. Prefer your bacon less crisp? Just be careful to not undercook it – look out for the tell-tale signs of undercooked bacon.

That’s it! Once your bacon is done to the level of crispiness your heart desires, you’re ready to plate up and serve it.

Air Fryer Kielbasa

Cooking kielbasa with your air fryer is fast and effortless – actually perfect for busy weeknights or when you need a quick meal idea.

  3. Either slice the links or make slits at intervals if cooking them whole.
  4. Place the sausages in the air fryer basket.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes at 370°F (188°C).
  6. Flip the sausages and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Check for desired brownness and crispiness. The skin should be crispy and brown when done.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve.

For Frozen Kielbasa

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C).

Air Fryer Nuggets

Making nuggets in an air fryer – for your children or yourself – is really simple and takes barely any time at all. The only preparation you really need is to just open the bag of nuggets, it is that easy.

  • Nuggets
  • Air Fryer
  • Tongs

  1. To cook your nuggets from frozen, you will want to place them in the air fryer.
  2. You do not need to separate them like when you cook bacon, you can just throw them all in there.
  3. Set the air fryer temperature to 392 degrees F and set the timer for 10 minutes.
  4. Dino nuggets are flatter than chicken nuggets, so the cooking time is usually shorter by around 2 minutes. I normally cook chicken nuggets for 12 minutes, so 10 for dino nuggets is the sweet spot.
  5. After they have finished cooking, remove them with your tongs or whatever else you plan to use, and plate them.

To reheat your nuggets, you will want to set the temperature to 392 degrees F and allow them to cook for 5 minutes.

Air Fryer Hash Browns

  • Hash browns (frozen or homemade)
  • Garlic
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper

  1. In a large bowl, add your frozen hash browns, and add the garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix all of the ingredients to combine.
You can pull apart the hash brown patties to make shredded hash browns which will give a really crispy result.
  2. Add the hash browns to the air fryer, giving each one a little space in between each one so they can cook evenly on the outside.
If cooking from frozen, you can add the hash browns before pre-heating your air fryer and use this as a way to thaw them without letting them get mushy.
  3. Cook the hash browns at 400 Degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.

Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make batches of this as you want to give the hash browns each some space within the air fryer. If you like your hash browns a little crispier, you may need to leave them cook a little longer.

Air Fryer French Toast Sticks

Whipping up frozen french toast sticks in your air fryer is a breeze – just like you’d imagine! All you need are a few eggs, a sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon, and some bread. It’s so simple, you’ll wonder why you haven’t been doing it all along!

  • Sliced bread, on the drier side preferably
  • 2 eggs
  • A splash of milk
  • A splash of heavy cream
  • 1 – 1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • Coffee creamer to taste (optional)
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • A small bowl of white caster sugar
  • Butter for frying

  1. Prepare egg mixture by combining eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and/or coffee creamer. Whisk thoroughly with a fork.
  2. Cut sliced bread lengthwise into three strips. Use thick-cut, slightly dry bread for best results.
  3. Make cinnamon sugar mix by combining cinnamon and sugar in a bowl or large Tupperware.
  4. Dip each bread stick in egg mixture for about 7 seconds total. Let excess egg drip off, then place in a baking pan.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet or non-stick frying pan. Cook sticks on low heat until golden on one side, then flip and repeat for the other side.
  6. Immediately after cooking, place sticks in the cinnamon sugar mix to coat.
  7. Serve immediately or let cool for freezing.
  8. Whether they’re store-bought or homemade like the recipe above, the first step to cooking frozen French toast in the air fryer is to take the bag out of the freezer. French toast becomes more brittle when frozen, so be careful not to break any sticks. Once out of the freezer, take your preferred serving size of toast out of the bag.
  9. Place these sticks into the air fryer, being mindful not to overcrowd the basket. If your air fryer is too full, the food will impair the air from circulating around your fryer. This results in soggy, undercooked French toast sticks. After loading these sticks into the basket, cook them at 400°F for three minutes.
  10. When the three minutes are up, pull the basket out and give it a gentle shake. If this motion doesn’t cause your sticks to flip, simply flip them with a metal spatula. Cook them for another two minutes.
  11. After these two minutes are over, those toast sticks are, well, toast! Serve them with whatever you’d like.

  3. Take your pepperoni and chop it into small bits and mix with the grated mozzarella

  6. Cook for 5 minutes, and check they are not burning. Cook until they reach your desired level of crispiness. Enjoy!

  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil, or high smoking point oil
  • ½ tsp salt

  1. Taking your okra straight from the freezer, add all of your ingredients to a large mixing bowl and give them all a toss around so all of the okra is coated in seasoning.
  2. Add your okra to the basket of the air fryer so it is all in a single layer. This is important to ensure that you get that crispy exterior, which is particularly important if you’re using breaded okra. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may have to cook this in multiple batches.
  3. Set your air fryer to preheat and let it preheat to 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes, or however long it takes.
  4. Once the preheat is finished, give the basket a shake and let the it cook for a further 7 minutes.

Air Fryer Sopapillas

Air fried sopapillas will be much lower in fat and calories given that they aren’t made of deep fried dough. Instead, sopapilla air fryer recipes will use only a smidge of oil which is used to “fry” up some of the lightest, flakiest, and most delicious sopapillas imaginable.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup of hot water
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of sugar (optional-use as a topping)
  • Other toppings (cinnamon, maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream)

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F.
  2. As your air fryer heats, mix 1 ½ cups of your all-purpose flour along with 1 tsp of baking powder and your salt to a large bowl. Sift your flour and baking powder first if required.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix your wet ingredients (the hot water and olive oil).
  4. Once incorporated, pour your wet ingredients into the dry ingredients a little at a time. Be careful, as dumping in too much at once may make it difficult to mix as the loose dough forms.
  5. Once a loose dough has formed, use your hands to pick up the dough and knead it. Do this for about 5 minutes.
  6. Afterward, roll the dough into a large ball. From this ball, divide the dough into four tinier balls.
  7. Place the dough balls into a bowl. Let the dough rest for at least 20 minutes.
  8. Once the 20 minutes is up, flatten each dough ball using a rolling pin. The dough balls should be flattened to about a fourth inch in terms of thickness. From here, cut the dough into fourths, both vertically and horizontally.
  9. At this point, you can go ahead and spray cooking oil in your preheated air fryer basket. For crispier sopapillas, lightly coat each side of the sopapilla with a bit of olive oil as well. Doing so will help the sopapilla expand better. It can also help the sopapilla cook through more easily.
  10. Cook the sopapillas on each side for 4 minutes or until they are an enticing shade of golden brown.
  11. Continue on air frying the rest of your sopapillas this way. Make sure you don’t put too many sopapillas in the air fryer basket at once as this will hinder them from becoming as crispy as you’d like.

21 Must Try Air Fryer Recipes

I’d be lying if I said this method wouldn’t take a little elbow grease, yet in comparison to an oven it is a lot easier. I suggest lining your air fryer with a silicone basket for easier clean up!

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼–½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup butter

  1. To start making our chocolate chip cookie dough, you are going to want to throw both the butter and the sugar into a large mixing bowl. It is best to have the butter at room temperature so that it can combine a lot easier. Mix these with either a hand mixer or with a whisk until you have an airy and creamy butter mixture.
  2. Now that you have the main base prepared, add all of your other ingredients slowly except from the flour and chocolate chips. This means you should add one ingredient and then mix it slightly just to avoid lumps. Once everything is incorporated and a consistent texture has been formed, it is time to add the flour.
  3. When adding the flour, you want to be relatively careful as it can be easy to put too much in at once and create lumps. Add a little bit at a time and keep mixing. It may seem tedious but the end result is well worth it. Once all of your flour has been added, grab a silicone spatula and gently start folding your chocolate chips into the dough. The reason we use a spatula to fold the chips in is to preserve the air texture we have in the dough while still keeping the chocolate chips intact.
  4. Once your dough is ready, it is best to put it in the fridge for 10-30 minutes. Refrigerated cookie dough is a lot easier to handle as it is less stick. Line your air fryer basket with either a silicone insert or parchment paper and, using a scoop for cookie dough, place as many cookie dough balls in as you can while ensuring that they are spread apart about an inch or two.
  5. Set your air fryer for 350 degrees F and let them cook for 5-7 minutes. Wait until they are golden brown and slightly crispy, or to your liking if you want them chewy.
  6. After this, let your cookies cool down for a couple of minutes before eating. And that’s how easy it is to air fry cookies! If you can’t finish them all, just store them in an airtight container in the fridge and you have 5 days to eat them.

Some things to note: When it comes to actually making the dough, it is best to take it in steps so that you can get the texture that you want. While you can air fry cookie dough without it ruining the cookies, messing up the dough in the firs place is a surefire way to be left with disappointment.

Full blog: Cookie Dough Air Fryer

If you don’t have time for making cookie dough from scratch to bake, this is a simple way to make premade cookie dough cookies using your new air fryer aka new kitchen best friend.

  • Premade cookie dough
  • Cookie scoop
  • Parchment paper or foil
  • Air fryer

  1. Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper, foil, or a silicone mat.
  2. Take your refrigerated cookie dough and roll into balls. If you are using break and bake cookies, simply break them into portions and put directly onto your lined air fryer basket.
  3. When placing your cookies, try very hard not to overcrowd your air fryer. Doing so will prevent the hot air from circulating, which will cause your cookies to bake up unevenly. It may even prevent them from crisping up around the edges; and we all know that’s the best part!
  4. Air fry your cookies at 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 6-7 minutes. Check your cookies to ensure they’re browned around the edges, indicating that it’s time to take them out.
  5. Allow your cookies to cool about 1-2 minutes before digging in.
  6. Serve with a glass of ice cold milk. Enjoy.

Reheating Pizza in the Air Fryer

Thankfully, it is perfectly fine to reheat pizza in your air fryer. As long as your slice can fit in the air fryer, it will come out perfectly.’

  1. Unlike the oven, there is no need for preheating or lining a tray with baking paper. You just place your pizza slice in the air fryer basket and shut it. Once shut, you can set the temperature to 350 degrees F.
  2. You can add parchment paper to the basket if you want to. But this is only for the sake of not having to clean melted cheese off of your air fryer. If you do decide to add parchment paper, it is worth it to add an extra minute to your air fryer so that the crust can crisp up as much as it normally would.
  3. Allow your pizza to cook for 5 minutes at this temperature and then check it once done.
  4. If it is not to your liking, you can keep heating it for 2-minute intervals until it is perfect.

Reheating Corn Tortillas in the Air Fryer

It is absolutely possible to heat corn tortilla taco shells in air fryer. Not only is it doable, but it’s also one of the easiest and less messy ways to go about the task.

  1. Brush corn tortillas lightly with oil using a pastry brush (love or avocado oil work great).
  2. Create a “tent” out of aluminum foil to drape your corn shells over. These will substitute for a taco mold.
  3. Air fry your corn tortillas at 400 degrees F. Cook them for about 5 minutes. Be sure to check your tortillas a few minutes in to make sure they haven’t shifted or fallen over.
  4. Once crisp, carefully remove the shells with tongs and set them on a paper towel to cool.
  5. Fill with meat, cheese, beans, veggies, and whatever else your heart desires.
